Understanding the ENERGYSTAR® Program

ENERGYSTAR® is a joint program between the Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy. Its intent is to help customers protect the environment by implementing or adopting energy-efficient products and practices (such as the ones delineated under the "clean practices" section).

What are the benefits of ENERGYSTAR® Products?
1. Products contribute to reduction in greenhouse gas emissions while simultaneously saving millions of dollars on utility bills.


2. Products on the market, such as consumer appliances and electronics, are tested to ensure they meet various constraints that ultimately help to protect the environment.


3. In general, the program seeks to bolster market awareness and foster innovation in technologies that can advance environmental policies.
